I Am Wonderfully Created. iAm Wonderfully Created. This statement, this declaration, this affirmation has been a part of my new foundation for a couple of years now. It was manifested during a time when I most needed it. A period in my life when I seemed to be sinking into a negative, self-sabotaging place. A time where I didn’t really accept who I was. But God.
iAm Wonderfully Created. This affirmation resonates with me so much because I can sense the power and love of God through it. Years ago I discovered the scripture;
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.” Psalms 139:14
It is such a beautiful truth that took me a while to believe. I questioned God as to why, how, and what was so wonderful about me. He then led me another scripture;
“So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27
Wow! I meditated on that scripture for days. God created me in His image. HIS IMAGE. I am like Him. This is the why, the how, and what is so wonderful about me. This is how Psalms 139 made sense to me. He created me as a reflection of Him. That’s why I am wonderfully made. I am the image of the King of Kings, God of all, the Lord of lords. I am a unique reflection of God. Me….little ol’ me!
iAm Wonderfully Created. Since I have come to know this amazing revelation, I of course look at myself differently. On most days I can see myself through the Creators eyes. It’s a wonderful view. I know now that my looks are not a mistake, my personality is not a mistake, even my loud snortful laugh is not a mistake. I am not a mistake. God formed me in my mother’s womb. I was a thought of before the foundation of time to be here and reflect Him the way that I do.
iAm Wonderfully Created. I have decided to spread this declaration as far as I can. You may wonder why the “i” is lower case (I’m going to pretend you did, anyways), well I wanted it to be a symbol of humility. I want to remind myself that I can’t take credit for this wonderfulness! He is the big “I” that chose to reflect His image on me the little “i”.
You are Wonderfully Created. This same truth applies to everyone! Each of us is a unique reflection of God. Think about that! How beautiful is that?! You are wonderfully created in the image of God. You are! We all look like the image of our Father.
Prayer for the reader:
Lord open their eyes to see the wonderful image they are. Open their understanding that they may comprehend the scriptures. Renew their minds. Loose any strongholds, wrong thinking, or seeds that may have been planted that comes against the truth of who they are. Let Your Word be written on their hearts. May they know what the height, depth, length, and width Your love is for them.
