1John1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”‭

When I was searching for the scripture I wanted for today I kept going back & forth between 1 John 1:9 and Ephesians 4:32 (one of my favorites). I finally settled down and chose the first one because I believe it’s important for us to know that we must first confess our wrong. Forgiving others is also very important as the second scripture points out but today I want to focus on ourselves (that sounds selfish, I know, but keep reading). We must admit our shortcoming. This is the first step in being forgiven. We have a tendency to avoid the difficult parts of life and sometimes try to sweep things under the rug, never really addressing the problem. But as we read in today’s scripture we must confess our sins. Face your problems head on, do not let fear block you from your gift of forgiveness. He is faithful to forgive. There is no wrong too big or too small. Confess it! He is faithful to forgive.

Day 26 in the #iAmchallenge2017 – During the month of May I will post a daily affirmation, corresponding scripture, and short encouragement. Read the affirmation out loud several times today.
